Caller of the Month

Dear Monthly Calling Campaign caller—

It’s widely believed that when you want to influence Congress, making phone calls is second only to personal visits.

To encourage our callers, at each monthly meeting of Citizen Climate Lobby’s Austin chapter, we conduct a random drawing to honor an MCC caller as

Caller of the Month.

To be entered in the drawing, you need to make at least one call during the previous month. If you make three calls—to your congressman and both senators—you’ll be entered three times.

The honor comes with a small prize—nothing fancy, just a token of our appreciation. The current prize is a gift certificates for Amy’s Ice Creams. Here’s a recent winner sharing his prize:

                                         Dave and Grace

You don’t have to be present to win—we know how to contact the winner! And you don’t have to be a CCL member (even if you’re not, you’re welcome to attend the meeting). The January meeting will be a hybrid —in-person and virtual— and it will start at around 12:45 pm (after the CCL national call, which begins at noon) on Saturday, January 14.

Some callers like to converse with the congressional staffers who pick up the calls. Other callers make their calls after hours, so they can be sure of just leaving a message. Either way is OK—every call counts.

A final reminder: The more calls you make this December, the better your chances of being selected as Caller of the Month in January—and the better our chances of getting climate legislation! This is the Monthly Calling Campaign’s final month, so let’s make it its best month.

Yours for a price on carbon,

—Ham
